Jurgen Klopp on what prevented Kylian Mbappe & Griezmann transfer from happening
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has explained why a transfer deal for Paris Saint-Germain forward Kylian Mbappe isn’t likely to happen, despite rumours that the Reds are interested in signing the France international.

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has hinted that he would like to add Kylian Mbappe to his squad. But, the Paris Saint-Germain star is simply too expensive for Liverpool to sign, despite the Reds having increasingly been linked with a move for the France international.

When asked why there aren’t any French players in his team, Klopp told Canal+: “There’s no reason for it, there’s no reason for it.
“Kylian plays for PSG. Griezmann has joined Barcelona.

“Obviously you know how good your team is.

“We would like a French player but some of them are too expensive for us.”

Meanwhile, Former Liverpool full-back Steven Warnock thinks a move to Anfield would be very appealing for Mbappe.

He told the Liverpool Echo: “I just think because of the way Liverpool have elevated themselves in the last couple of years under Jurgen Klopp, people are now putting stories together linking them with the best players in the world

“Let’s be honest, why wouldn’t they want to play under Jurgen Klopp at Liverpool? The atmosphere is incredible and so is the manager.

“They have reached two Champions League finals in the last two seasons and a Europa League final not long before that.

“It’s very appealing to go to Liverpool at the moment.”

Liverpool sit 10 points clear at the top of the Premier League, with a game in hand. And still yet to lose a league game all season, winning 16 of their 17 matches.
