Liverpool Lineup Vs Napoli: Oxlade-Chamberlain, Salah And Keita To Start, Firmino Leads The Line

Klopp's Liverpool will entertain Napoli at Anfield on Wednesday night hoping to pick up maximum points which will ensure their passage through to the next round of the UEFA Champions League as the group winners. The Reds are coming into this contest on the back of a hard-fought win against Crystal Palace last weekend.

Jurgen Klopp will likely opt for a 4-3-3 formation and make a whole host of changes to his first-team for this upcoming clash versus the Naples outfit.

In Defence

Alisson Becker will retain his place in goal for the Reds despite struggling to keep clean sheets at the back this season. Matip could come into the Liverpool first-team and lineup alongside Virgil Van Dijk at the heart of Klopp’s backline. Dejan Lovren might be given a rest due to his heavy involvement in recent weeks.

Trent Alexander-Arnold will likely keep his place at right-back as he looks to create some decent chances for the front players in the Napoli half. Andrew Robertson will fill in on the other side as the left-back. The Scotland captain could be rested if he is still having problems with his calf. If so, then James Milner will start in his position in midweek.

The Merseyside giants have been leaky in defence over the past couple of months so Klopp would be hoping that his defenders can secure a shutout versus Carlo Ancelotti’s men.

Also in Midfield

Oxlade-Chamberlain could step into the midfield if Robertson is fit and it is expected that the English veteran will play along with Fabinho and Naby Keita at the centre of the park. Both Jordan Henderson and Georginio Wijnaldum might be given a rest so that they can save their legs for the league clash against Brighton and Hove Albion coming up next weekend.

Adam Lallana will be available on the Reds bench and could come on to make an impact if required.

Also, Liverpool where handed a welcome piece of news as Xherdan Shaqiri has returned to training after his recent injury lay off.

As reported by The Liverpool Echo, the Swiss international is hoping to force his way back into Jürgen Klopp’s plans after recovering from a calf issue.
Shaqiri has been out of action since mid-September due the calf injury, with Jurgen Klopp suggesting that his recovery has taken longer than usual due to his big muscles.

However, ahead of this midweek game against Italian outfit Napoli, Shaqiri is fully for and as such, there’s a chance that he’s available for selection
