Imo Bomb Blast : State Government makes new promises after visiting victims ;

Imo State Deputy Governor, Rt. Hon. Gerald Irona, paid a visit to Eziorsu community in Oguta Local Government Area of the state.

The visit was to Sympathise with the families of victims who lost their lives in Thursday’s bomb explosion in Imo.

Narrating the incident, one of the family of the victims said :

“He was hitting the hammer on the Iron, trying to compress it, before it exploded.

“The two other victims- one a passerby and another standing beside him were unfortunate.

Rt. Hon. Gerald while reacting to the incident urged people living in Imo to be more careful.

“On behalf of the Inspector General of Police, I advise people of Imo State to watch it. If you suspect any iron, don’t rush to it. Report to the Police. Everyone should be careful with Iron.

“I have arranged for a meeting with the Scrap Iron Union in the state.

” The meeting targets people in this line, but, this is a call on all to be careful with everything Iron.”

Also Reacting to the visit,  the community ruler, , Prince Emmanuel Ukado thanked the State Government for visiting to condole with them over the incident.

He said :
“Thank you for coming to see my people. We are consoled. We are glad that this government has remembered us. Your visit has given us hope.

“Your coming to sympathize with us shows that you have us at heart. It shows us that this new government will not abandon us.”

Gutsynaij recall that on Thursday in Eziorsu community in Imo State, there was a bomb blast after a victim, who ignorantly attempted to compress a rod (unknown to him it was a bomb) died and two others.

The victims of the Imo bomb blast includes: Elvis Ukado, Kasiemobi Uzoma and Chijindu Adieme.

Answering questions from newsmen during his visit, Deputy Governor, Rt. Hon. Gerald Irona insisted that the present administration supports separation of powers.

Furthermore,  he assured  Imo people of their commitment to securing lives and property in the state.
