“I am Liverpool ” Messi reveals how son mocks and taunts him daily after Champions League loss
Barcelona star Lionel Messi has revealed his son taunts and mocks him after his team defeat to Liverpool at Anfield.
Barcelona lost 4:0 to Klopp’s Liverpool in the Champions League semi-finals with Liverpool winning the competition for a sixth time.
Lionel Messi has opened up on how his son taunts and mocks him by declaring “I’m Liverpool ” anytime the both play football together.
Messi scored twice against Liverpool at the Camp Nou including a stunning free-kick, as the La Liga champions commanded a 3-0 lead into the return match at Anfield.
However, the Spanish giants were not able to utilize the advantage letting Klopp’s killer striker Divock Origi and Georginio Wijnaldum steal the show.
They both scored two goals apiece to hand Liverpool a 4 nil win on the night and a 4-3 win on aggregate.
Although Messi previously expressed sadness in the outcome, it however, appears that the 5 time Ballon d’Or winner gets home sympathy too.
The 31-year-old, who has three sons, opened up on how his center boy Mateo (born in 2015) keeps mocking him when they play together.
He said :
“We played at home, and last time we kicked it about, he would tell me, ‘I’m Liverpool, who beat you’,” Messi told TyCSports , via The Liverpool Echo .
“‘You are Barca, and I’m Liverpool.’”
The Argentine has established himself as on of Barcelona’s greatest ever since making his appearance in 2004.
In 687 appearances for the Spanish giants, Messi has scored 603 goals and brought a number of trophies to the Camp Nou.
Instead of backing his fathers club, Messi also said that Mateo was known to cheer for rivals Real Madrid attempting to annoy older brother Thiago.
“He’s watching TV and he screams goal for Real Madrid,” the Argentina captain added.
“He does it on purpose against his brother.
“Everyone watching Madrid, they score, Thiago gets angry, and Mateo goes ‘goaaaal for Madrid!’”.
