Another Air-force Helicopter crash-lands on Democracy day

A Helicopter owned by the Nigerian Air Force has crashed-landed at the Umaru Musa Yar’adua International Airport, Katsina State.

The accident which occurred on June 12, at about 3:00pm, was confirmed in a statement on Wednesday by the NAF Director of Public Relations Air Commodore Ibikunle Daramola.

According to the statement, the crash happened while the helicopter was coming back from an anti-armed banditry fight mission in the Northwest region under Operation Hadaran Daji.

Details are still scanty, but, Mr. Daramola said no life was lost.

Subsequently, the Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar, has ordered the constitution of a Board of Inquiry to ascertain the real cause of the incident.

The Force said it continues to indulge the support of the general public as it ensures daily security of Nigeria and Nigerians
