Female top act and “Love Me Love Me” hit maker, Tiwa Savage has signed a Bumber record deal with Universal Music Group.

The exists, ends a seven year partnership between the female act and Mavin Records.

She was joined by top celebrities like Joel Katz, Efe Ogbeni, Vanessa Amadi (Stealth Management), Sipho Dlamini, Managing Director of Universal Music South Africa and Sub-Saharan Africa (English-speaking), Adam Granite, Executive Vice President, Market Development at Universal Worldwide and Sir Lucian Grainge, Chairman and CEO of Universal Music Group Worldwide, for the contract signing in UMG office in California

Tiwa Savage, who rose from a local music composer to an A-lister, was initially signed to Mo’Hits Records, whose name was changed to Mavin Records (In 2012) and owned by Don Jazzy.

After Tiwa penned pen to paper, Efe Ogbeni and Vanessa Amadi expressed happiness over the agreement between both sides.

Adding further, they applauded her for her consistency and steady hardworking nature lifestyle.

“Tiwa is undoubtedly the most hardworking and talented female artist crossing over from Africa to the rest of the world, and UMG has demonstrated its commitment to the continent by placing its formidable machinery behind her amazing career. Partnerships like these symbolize the hopes and dreams of so many talented artists back home in Africa and it is an honor to be the executive producers of her project.”

Universal music Executive Vice President, Market Development, Adam Granite, praised her further announcing that the deal will “help her music reach new audiences around the world. As one of Africa’s most successful, influential and dynamic singer-songwriters,”. She said Tiwa was always an International singer.

Mavin records in it’s farewell message to Tiwa wrote;

During her time at Mavin, Tiwa released two albums and one EP. She was also on the Mavin Compilation album, ‘Solar Plexus.’

Don Jazzy also congrtualted her via his Instagram page.

He wrote :


“We love you from the bottom of heart and pray GOD’s blessings continue to follow you. Amennnn.”

She has since responded to Don Jazzy with the Twitter post, “It’s beyond a contract, I’m a Mavin for LIFE.”
