Chelsea manager maurizio sarri has hailed liverpool as “one of the quality teams in Europe” but believes his chelsea side remained unlucky to lose at anfield.
He commended liverpool’s mentality, but believes they are not title favorites.
With eden chance hitting the post and alisson becker making a first-class stop to prevent the belgian, the blues had their threat however, it didn’t pay off.
Sarri stated: “liverpool are one of the fine teams in europe at this moment.
“they performed thoroughly for ninety minutes. however i think we stayed inside the defence very well today.
“We have been a touch bit unfortunate for the second intention for the timing of it, however Mo Salah is terrific, and his goal it became a excellent intention.
“then we were also a little bit unfortunate because in 3 minutes we had 3 opportunities, two with Hazard and one with higuain and we hit the post for the thirty fifth time this season.”
“liverpool started the second half for 10 mins in a very good manner and it wasn’t clean to play against them in that second.
“We had to get thru the first 10 minutes because in the ultimate 20-25 minutes we could have located numerous areas. But the goal changed alot of things.
“Two or three months ago we’d not have been able to stay in this match.
“To close the gap with Liverpool and Man City will be very difficult as the quality is so high.”
The Chelsea boss was also asked who he believes will emerge triumphant in such a tight Premier League battle. He however, tipped Liverpool “to drop few points” adding that Manchester City are a “more reliable team.”
