Nigerian activist, Deji Adeyanju who regained his freedom from detention in Kano Prison after 78-days has told President Muhammadu Buhari to be ready for another next four years of criticisms.
Adeyanju arrived at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport on Saturday following his release reassured Buhari to being committed to criticising and holding his government responsible and also speaking the truth all the time.
He insisted his detention in Kano Prison was a “Vitamin C which has re-energised and refreshed his activism’ spirit towards the government. As he wondered why the Buhari led administration persecuted him for ‘ no just case’ but thanked the government for helping popularise him further.
He further denied insinuations that he was being used by opposition parties.
“For me, I am convinced that when you lock up an activist in prison, what you are doing is that you are just giving him Vitamin C so that he can be refreshed.
“So, I have gone in, I am refreshed, I am re-energised. So, the government should prepare for four more years of activism.
“If it is PDP, we will still criticise, but if they don’t want to be criticised, they should leave and go to Daura.
“I do not work with any opposition party, in as much as they are on top of the seat, they should get ready for criticism,” Adeyanju said.
