JAMB warns candidates against using the same phone number during 2019/2019 registration proces

Candidates sitting for the 2018/2019 Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, JAMB examination has been warned against using the same phone number during their registration proces.
JAMB’s Head of Media and Information, Fabian Benjamin gave the warning on Friday while urging candidates to comply strictly to the registration procedure for the 2019 UTME so as not to have complications during the exam sitting.

While Speaking with News Agency of Nigeria, NAN, in Lagos, Benjamin gave the procedure required to register for this year's JAMB Examination adding that  all candidates desirous of registering for the examination must ensure they start off by sending their full names, (surname first) to the code provided by the board.

However he warned  that candidates must ensure that no other person had used that telephone number for that purpose.

He said: “No two persons must use a single GSM number in commencing the registration process as it will not be acceptable.

“The way it is configured is one individual to one telephone number that will remain exclusive to that single individual for the purpose of the entire examination process.

“Not even siblings are allowed to share a particular telephone number for this purpose.

“For instance, if candidate A used a telephone number to send his name to the code in the past, candidate B, who is a sibling to A cannot use that number for that purpose again.

“But candidate A, who probably might not have been able to pass the examination, can still use that particular line again to send his name to that code whenever the need arises,’’ he explained.

Benjamin further added that it was safer to buy a new sim with a new phone number for the registration instead of using a a ‘welcome back’ number while Commenting on missing mobile phone lines.
