APC political rally in Lagos marred by violence as one person is confirmed dead

The All People Congress[APC] political rally in Lagos has been marred by violence as one person was confirmed dead in the rally that took place at the Skypower field today January 8th.

Ismail Afez, a member of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) was shot in the head during  a crossfire between hoodlums that attended the rally. He was rushed to the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH) where he was declared dead.

Also during the crossfire, three journalist were sustained sever in injuries as they were reportedly hit by bullets. they included the Nation Group Political Editor Emmanuel Oladesu, New Telegraph correspondent, Temitope Ogunbanke and Ibile Television cameraman, Abiodun Yusuf.

Many persons including the chairman of NURTW in Oshodi, Musiliu Akinsanya a.k.a MC Oluomo, were stabbed by hoodlums. Oluomo was stabbed in the stomach, hand and head. He is receiving treatment at an undisclosed hospital.

Important items like phones, laptops and money were forcefully collected from people at gun point as many lost there vital items.
